Hello! It's seems like forever that I was here. We enjoyed a wonderful week in the Adirondack Mountains. It was year number twelve for us and probably one of the best Adirondack vacations we've enjoyed in a long while. The weather was perfect, the activities were plenty and best of all there was very little fighting.
School is now in session, and the homework wars have commenced. Eighth grade has thrown Matt for a loop. Much more homework which eats into his relaxing. He's not use to going, going, going, and then going to bed. It's a nasty pill to swallow.
I hope all of you are doing well and autumn routines are falling into place. As I was waiting for the alarm to go off this morning (why I set it, is beyond me. I'm always awake before it goes off) I realized that autumn is here. There's a chill in the air, the wind moves differently, there are no birds singing in the morning and best of all the roosters are gone from next door.
Here's to crispy leaves, warm sweaters, football games and routines. I'm ready, are you?

Lovely sun set. LOVELY!
Oh, Jane - that last photo is breathtaking! So glad you had a wonderful end of summer vacation. Here's to FALL!
Awesome action shots of your guys - looks like a great time! I'm ready for fall too and long walks through the woods.
I think I am ready now, but it has taken me a while to accept it.
We have entered the homework battlefield too, Dylan (11) seems to be overwhelmed already, I feel so mean in my role of enforcer, it's going to take quite a while to adjust I think.
wonderful summer memories!
i do hope your guys can find a routine. i don't think we really have one yet. maybe shorter days, once the time changes, will help everyone settle in.
So ready! The other day I was practically doing a jig (DESPITE having a one-hour car ride to a soccer game ahead of me) over the fact I could FINALLY put on jeans and a sweater instead of dowdy khaki frumpy mom shorts. Soooo happy. Glad you had a great vacation!
I am ready too.
Homework has begun here. Grade 10 is the first year our children write provincial exams in their academic subjects.... my daughter feels the pressure a little too much... I'd like my son to feel a bit more.
First new spartans have arrived - I love fresh crispy apples.
great pics what lake is that? I live in the Adirondacks and grew up on Lake George.
beautiful shots...smiling and so happy...back at whether we are ready or not,Jane~
great post...I'm with you, I'm ready for autumn and the routine it brings. I hope the homework finds a balance with your son. Have a great week!

We're ready for fall. It's my favourite time of year. :)
