Link Love!

Happy Weekend to you all! Here are some of my favorites of the week. Pictures are my own! Enjoy!

1. Hooray for this woman! I want to look like her when I turn 100!

2. This sounds so good and refreshing! I'm off to the farmer's market to pick up some honeydew melon today!
3. I've posted the above muffin recipe before. These were a major fail this week so I offer up this link in exchange.

4.I love this woman! Especially her hair! But also, check out her tatoo and those wonderful, wonderful shoes! Wondering if I can pull off short hair again. Probably not! And right now my brother is probably rolling his eyes...he hates my haircut!

5. And, just in case your kids get bored this week...Pop open the cake liners and see what you can create!

Play Ball!

Baseball was made for kids, and grown-ups only screw it up.

(ain't that the truth!)

as a sidebar to the picture above...matt is small for his age, so the first time he played this team and came across this "dude" he was shocked! "mom, did you see his mustache?

5 things...without numbers

I'm one of those people that needs to learn to say no. But, always feel badly when someone comes to me, begging, for help. So then I usually say yes, reluctantly. This past weekend was one of those times. Somehow, I was roped into chairing our yacht (the term, yacht club is used very lightly here. It's a barn where people store their sailboats and motorboats. It has a beach and picnic tables. White pants, docksiders or blazers are NOT allowed!) club's member-guest. I guess a small part of me wanted to do this event because I had seen this wonderful

diy project at a few stops around blogland.
So my trusty paper cutter and I became quite close. In about eight hours time

these, turned into

these.

Flowers were gathered from neighbors' gardens. Thanks to my friends, Nancy and Debbie for letting us cut their hydrangeas.

The band played and people danced...despite the heat and the rain and the humidity!

The lights were turned down low and people ate yummy food.

(not much left over, which made me extremely nervous)

And hopefully, everyone had a wonderful time.

2. Went here over the weekend. Hot, hot, hot! Would love to throw on some of her dresses to cool off!

3. We've had late night dinners. Too much fun to stop playing. Need something to do with your tomatoes? Go here!

4. Jane of Simple and Pretty sent me some wonderful notecards from Monkey Press. If you don't know Jane check out her blog. She loves anything letterpress and has a great eye for fashion. Stop on over and read about Monkey Press also. They have some wonderful, simple paper products!

5. And have you seen this site? I wonder if my boys would go for it when they're older. I'm thinking. uh, no!
Happy week everyone!

A Little Bit of Knitting

I've been knitting! With yarn from my stash! Which is a good thing!
First up Citron.
It's an easy knit made interesting with the ruching. I only had just enough yarn for the five pattern repeats. Wish I had more. Details are over at Ravelry if you want more info.
I might keep this or save it for holiday time.

Next up is Boheme. This will be on my go-to list when my husband comes home from work, yet again, and asks me to make something for some young parents, who I have never met before! I messed up the buttonholes (details on Ravelry) but c'est la vie! I made it work and I'm happy with it.

Currently, I'm working on a mindless summer scarf and planning my fall knits. I'm thinking of a "boyfriend" sweater. Any suggestions?

5 things...

We had fun last week and did more than five things! Anyone who knows our family, knows that moss will never grow under our feet! My husband was home all last week...so that meant we experienced even more than we usually do!
So...

1. We took a quick trip to Boston. Remember I told you all that I was going to do that with the boys. Well, my husband didn't want to be left out, so he came too!

2. I met Kerstin...finally! We have been long time online friends. So good to finally speak face to face.

3. My boys made me laugh a lot last week. Which is a lot better than the alternative!

4. My husband and I decided we could never be night drivers. We rolled into Boston around 1 AM and I'm not quite sure how we got there.

5. I spent a lot of time in Boston while in my roaring twenties and miss it a lot. What a great city it is!

Snack Time

We still haven't found the flow to our summer yet. Maybe by next week! Off to explore a new city in the next few days! See you soon!
