Hello...Out...There!

I'm here. Just dealing with the hormones of a twelve year old AND the hormones of a forty-six year old. Let me tell you, the two do not mix well!
In lieu of writing, I give you pictures.

It's mud season here, don'tcha know! That means mountains of laundry! Daily!

Spring cleaning the bedrooms. One down, one to go. I'm not holding my breath on the second one. He sleeps with piles of clothes on his bed...yes mom, I know it sounds familiar!

Sewing disasters! My home-ec (do they even call it that anymore?) teacher would be so disappointed.

But wait, I was able to sew four straight lines to make this nifty little bag.

We are all trying to eat healthier around here, including the big, big guy! Pretend you don't see the Ranch dressing on the salad.

Finally, Spring is making a very slow return in the Northeast. Although, yesterday we had the return of the Mallard duck couple and the peepers provided us a symphony to listen to while fading to sleep.
Will be back when all the hormones settle back down. Who knows when that will be!

Purple Rain

This is the second time making Wisp. The first time I made it using Rowan Kid Silk Haze like the pattern called for. Then I started seeing Wisp being made in all sorts of yarn. Like this one and this one. So when my cowl didn't work, I decided to take a shot at using my cashmere yarn on Wisp. I'm so glad I did! It is probably the softest item that I have ever made. The scarf looks totally different than my first Wisp. The stitch definition is much more defined. I have to knit carefully because the yarn is so delicate that I'm afraid that I will rip the yarn when knitting two stitches together (I've already did this once). I'm addicted and I can't wait to finish..so I'm off!

Green

I didn't do so well with Green Week. As the warmer weather descends upon us, my yard seems to get muddier and muddier, no green in sight anywhere...yet. Everything is brown. So much yard work to do. I searched and searched for green and realized, that even though most of our walls are green, we are a brown and blue family. So, when I'm back to spending money, I think I will look for a little green to stir things up around here!

Go check out all the green over at Shining egg's blog. She's the hostess with the mostess and has collected a wide range of green from many of the participants.

Tomorrow's post will finally feature knitting. I found a use for the purple cashmere in my banner up above and am quite excited to finally finish a project!

Enjoy your Sunday evening!

well, hello there...

I thought I might start writing again.  Not sure what I will want to talk about.  The guys have their own lives and are making...
