Ingenue!

Oh, how I LOVE this sweater! It was quick and easy to knit. I would highly recommend it for a beginner knitter. I enjoyed knitting with the Cascade Eco-wool. (Plus it's pretty inexpensive!) My only worry is that the sweater will pill quickly.
I started a Hemlock Ring Blanket in the same yarn, but if you listen carefully today, you will hear the sound of ripping so I can start another Ingenue or a modified version of said pattern. I forgot how much I enjoyed knitting top-down raglans and this pattern is a great starting point in creating something of my own.

Specs:
From the book "Custom Knits"
Cascade Eco-wool 1.25 skeins used
brown
Size XS-which gave me a nice snug fit
Needles: size 8
On another note...does anyone have a really good recipe for oatmeal? You know the kind...goopy and thick...the stick to your stomach kind. Thanks for your help!

Your new sweater is fabulous! I love the texture on the sleeves and collar. I've seen so many great knits done with Eco-wool but haven't tried it myself... I'm intrigued. I might totally copy you.

it is SO cute!!!!!!!

okay. i put my oatmeal on really low. i use milk. the recommended amount of each. i then let it cook. and cook. all the while adding milk. or water. oh! and i only buy the slow cooked oats. never the quick oats.
and i let it cook for about 45 minutes. it is thick. and goopy. just like you want!

that sweater is gorgeous!

I swear by steel cut oats for my oatmeal. It has a much more meaty texture than rolled oats and doesn't take much longer to cook. I make it with half water and half milk.

OMG! Your sweater looks Grand on you. I have several skeins of Eco and this sweater selection may be just the pattern for me.

I use the McCann's steel cut oatmeal and cook it the way Martha Stewart showed a few years back. Melt a small pat of butter in a pan and add the oats, stir til toasty, and then add the water. It takes about 20 - 25 minutes at a slow simmer and stir every few minutes. Then I add a little skim milk, dried cranberies, and walnuts. Delicious and stays with you quite a while!

Oh, my God - this is so funny because your pics look exactly like mine for this week.

Well, except yours are better. And so is your sweater. Darn. Off to get that book. (Love the Eco-wool - I just made Leslie's vest in a gray for my son.)

I just came back to get the specs/quantity... That's it?! Just 1.25 skeins? Love that stuff! (The vest for Boy, btw, took .75 skeins, so... there you go. Aren't I handy with my housewifely left-over tips?)
