5 things...

I was looking through some of my old pictures the other day and discovered a whole bunch that I had forgotten about. Since I've been busy with life and not able to take any recent pictures of my garden, you'll just have to settle with some old ones. And now, on with the five!
1.  I've been worrying about Ryan and his ears.  He's an ear kid and has had difficulties since he was three.  Surgery has been postponed due to a cold, which has made his ears quite painful.  He's a pretty brave kid in my book.
2.  I can't wait for the end of the school year.
3. John Grisham has a book coming out for middle schoolers.  I'm intrigued and hope my guys want to read it.
4.  I want to make sangria this weekend.

5.  I'm putting together a summer playlist.  What are you listening to lately?

Sorry about your son, hope he feels better soon. Love the sangria link, hope to mix up a batch this weekend. As for playlist suggestions, I've been listening to Iron & Wine, Neko Case, and Bon Iver.

Thank you Jane! I hope your poor boy feels better soon. As far as Summer music- my summertime playlist includes, Brett Dennen (by Brett Dennen), Snack Time (by Bare Naked Ladies) and The Reminder (by Feist).
Please let me know how the sangria comes out! Thanks again for the shout out!

I am not a music go-to person by any stretch, however, I just made a mellow playlist which includes two new-to-me favorites: The Book of Love by the Magnetic Fields (also covered by Peter Gabriel) and Fidelity by Regina Specktor.

Hope those ears get better soon. So painful to see your kids in pain.

oh my!
love your flower pictures, sangria sounds fantastic, and i want school to be over TOO! thanks for the book tip, i'll definitely be getting that one.
as for music, we listen to such a mix, eighties stuff that the kids don't really like, kids stuff that we like sometimes.i like jack johnson, eagles, almost anything goes, and jazz....have you heard of Pink Martini?...i'm the only one in my house that likes them, they are kind of jazzy but yet worldly....check them out on itunes. i just finished a book called The Book Of Negros by Lawrence Hill,it's about the slave trade in the mid 1700's, it was a good read.
hope your fella feels better soon...

Oh, poor Ryan! I bet it's especially tough at this time of year, with all the pollen - everyone's ears seem to be stuffed up. (That's not the right word... but you know what I mean.) Martha Stewart has a peach/prosecco sangria recipe that is awesome (and ultimately quite lethal, if you know what I mean again).

Poor Ryan. I used to have bad ears as a child and my Mum used to iron my Dads handkerchiefs into squares and I would hold them on my ears whilst they were hot!! I did help.

Beautiful images Jane! I had major ear problems as a child as well but can't remember what happened to finally get a handle on it...hope you can figure out something soon!

Oh, music...my tastes are so varied that I wouldn't know where to start. If you really need suggestions, shoot me some examples and I bet I can come up with a list of newbies to add to your collection!

well, hello there...

I thought I might start writing again.  Not sure what I will want to talk about.  The guys have their own lives and are making...
