I finally made a hat.
Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions.
I started out making Habitat, but had to rip it out a few times and thought that it was a sure sign that it was not meant to be at this moment. I will come back to it...when it's quiet and peaceful...maybe January.
It's a design by Jared Flood.
The yarn is Cascade 220 heathers.
I think next time I might make it a bit smaller as it's a bit slouchy. I'm not one for slouchy.
What are you making?

I just finished making Rosebud also! Yours looks great.
Cute hat and it looks great on! I'm working on Avery, but it might take me all winter. Slow knitting lately. Slow everythinglately.
I think it looks fab! Not slouchy at all--though I do like slouchy too :)

I am just about done with my Koukla (yay!) and forcing myself to finish before I start something else (though I've been breaking up the stockinette with my Imogen Cowl and, irrationally, more stockinette with the hat I recommended to you but can never remember the name of...) Anyway, I don't think you meant knitting...? I have been OBSESSED with the Everyday Food October issue. I've made just about everything in it, to much success, if you can still lay your hands on a copy somewhere. Also can't say enough about Melissa Clark's cookbooks (I just got the new one). Easy stuff that always goes over well but seems new and different.
aw, sweet hat! it looks cute on you.
What am I NOT making? Currently have Terra in Ultra Alpaca on the needles for my MIL CHristmas present; finishing Lakedale Shawl in Marion Foale (which is so SOFT), the Fair Isle hat in the Fall issue of VOgue, and the brocade vest of EZ! Keep those needles clicking!
Hi there Jane!Sorry for not visiting in such a long time. I have been enjoying your fall pictures especially the snow one! I can't believe how early the snow fell.
Your hat is fantastic...the colour looks great on you..I think you need to make one for yourself now. I made two hats, Chunky Dean Street Hat, one in brown and one in orange. Our weather has now turned into the yucky rainy weather with a few great sunny days thrown in between. Maybe we'll get some snow!?
Hope you have a good week.
hi jane!! hope you are well. i am going to get a cup of tea and dig into your archives to catch up for a bit. :)
i am finally making something again...it's a shawl.scarf from madeline tosh.
have a great week!
that hat is on my to-make list. did you make the smaller or bigger one? i'm not big for slouch, either, so i was thinking small...just wondering.
