5 things...

Do you hear that? No? Listen really close...ah, it's the sound of silence. Everyone is back at school and work today. The house is clean, and there are cookies already baking in the oven. January is one of my favorite months. There is no unusual activity, just plain routine. We will ski a lot and play hockey on the weekends. The television watching has been cut, due to extreme viewing by all. Books will be read. Here's to your start to the week and year. Hope it's a smooth one.

1. The pond went through a January thaw. Now all we need is extreme cold with no snow and it will be perfect.
2. See those little lights. They are built into what look like bare branches. I love them. I keep them out all year.
3. My amaryllis are gorgeous! They are such a deep red. I ordered them from here, along with my paperwhites.
4. See I love them so much, I took another shot.
5. My favorite new Christmas decoration, given to my by a special friend. It was perfect on the top of our small tree.
Have a great week everyone!

Last night I got all sentimental about them going back to school - I love the lazy mornings and no-homework evenings. But then I remembered the quiet house during the day and I breathed a deep sigh.

I owe you an email and I haven't forgotten. Did you get that additional info about the job?

I was just thinking about the routine of day-to-day. As much as I loved the break it is nice to be back to the normal routine. Your amaryllis is lovely--I find flowers every time of year to be refreshing!

Enjoy the silence....
Your home looks divine.

Nothing like a clean house and quiet house...at least for a few minutes(in my case)

Your amaryllis ARE gorgeous. Love the first photo of them. Mine should bloom late February. My paperwhites are in full bloom and the scent is teetering on overpowering.

Happy New Year and welcome back to your plain routine.

We head back to school/work tomorrow. Usually I'm not looking forward to getting back to routine, but this year I'm indifferent. Love your amaryllis. I've seen those little lights at a store nearby, and keep meaning to pick them up, they add so much atmosphere.Happy New Year to you Jane!

Love the look and feel of your home...plus it's on a pond - such a bonus! Your red amayllis are stunning! I took down all my red/bright art and painted everything white and i kindda miss all the bright pops of color around.

Please share where you bought the lights - there are no stores nearby (unless you count walmart) but i will travel!

Wishing you and your family a wonderful 2011!

I love the idea of a clean quiet home. I'm not quite there yet but on my way. I'm amazed at how much I got out for Christmas. Enjoy the peace and your beautiful amaryllis.
